Texture, Matching Picture Cards with Plants, Animals, More (15 pg) K-3 , Sped, ELL/ESL
You will download 15 jpgs. in this file. This is a matching game of different textures that uses boards with cut out matching cards. Pictures are used for photographic examples. This is a visual activity and does not have written content.

You may want to copy each jpg onto white card stock and laminate, so the game can be more durable and used by many students. Students can work alone, in pairs or small groups to match the textures.

(For Memory Game , you will want two copies of each page, including the match cards. For class inspiration, hand out a card to each child and have them create using their “Texture Card” as creative inspiration.

You will receive:

1. 10 pages of Texture Boards to cut out and laminate

2. 3 Pages of Matching Cards to print and cut out and laminate. One matching card corresponds to one Texture Board. Note: That sometimes a card may match more than one texture board.

3. 1 Blank Template for your use

4. 1 Practice Drawing Texture Worksheet. (bumpy, rough, smooth, jagged, slimy)
Students will learn vocabulary and to visually identify texture in pictured objects.

This list is no way inclusive of all the different types of textures there are, but it will provide readiness if you want to have the children, look at the pictures, write the texture words and draw a picture in the last box before you do the task cards.
